Next Level: Fringe

image

How to wear fringe without feeling like you’re repurposing a razzle-dazzle-y  Halloween costume? Four ideas—good ones, if you ask me. —erica

LEVEL I: Well! It doesn’t get more ladylike than this Adam Lippes dress.

LEVEL II: Hey, Coachella, these Loeffler Randall sandals are looking for you.

LEVEL III: Tibi makes backless feel a smidge more approachable.

LEVEL IV: This jacket = very Devil Wears Prada-on-an-acid-trip, c/o MSGM.

Next Level: Silk Trenches

image

Is it obvious that we’re dreaming of warmer (drier) weather? That would allow us to wear not just a trenchcoat but a SILK one? Cause we’ve been spying these ‘round the internets, and we’re feeling them for sure. —erica

LEVEL I: Doesn’t get more classic than this—you’d have this Thom Browne one for decades.

LEVEL II: This Rachel Comey sucker would even look good layered under a heavier wool coat (in other words: you can wear it now).

LEVEL III: This blue. And why is this Adam Lippes take making me think of Tilda Swinton?

LEVEL IV: From Wood Wood—very sunshine, lollipops.

All the “Next Level” you can handle!

In Character: Tracy Flick

The thing about Tracy Flick is that she’s grating, obnoxious, and a little bit insane. But the other thing is that you relate to her—or at least Claire and I do. She was meant for another world—one far away from Jim McAllister—and so were her future-Congresswoman ensembles. —erica

A parka with a plaid-lined hood from L’Agence that’s as tough as she is. As her mom says, “The weak are always trying to sabatoge the strong.”

A Camoshita sweater vest that can handle a long day of cupcake distributing.

The sort of Adam by Adam Lippes wool skirt that screams trust. How can any Metzler compete with that?
