Weather Vain: Williamsburg, Brooklyn - 77 With a Chance of T-Storms

Today is totally one of those what-do-I-wear?! days for the L train contingent. It’s warm but not hot. And how much is it going to rain? Here, our prescription. —erica
Clockwise from top left:
+ A lightweight, breathable Raquel Allegra tee that won’t get too sweaty on the Lorimer platform.
+ A kick-ass Mociun ring—the jewelry phenom’s store is one of the best in the ‘hood!
+ A borderline-genius short-sleeve rain jacket from Boy by Band of Outsiders.
+ K/LLER earrings—ready for a night on the Wythe Hotel roof should the clouds part.
+ A super-hard-working clutch made by equally industrious local designer Collina Strada.
+ Some of the sleekest rain boots around, by Loeffler Randall.
+ A Christopher Kon wallet, to match the BBQ at BrisketTown.
+ Mother jeans that will hold up JUST FINE if they get splashed by a black car on Bedford.

Weather Vain: Miami, Florida - 84 With a Chance of Thunderstorms

Party in the city where the heat is on…or where it’s pouring down rain. EITHER WAY. Here’s what to wear in Mee-ah-mee on a day like today. (Keely! We miss you! Come back!) —erica
Clockwise from top left:
+ A Loeffler Randall clutch, as fun as drinks at The Freehand.
+ The sort of so-easy Raquel Allegra dress that’s happy to live in a suitcase.
+ A Rag & Bone hat, protecting your hair from any T-storming—or, if the clouds part, the sun along the Wynwood Art Walk.
+ Rain sandals! Brought to you by Melissa.
+ Take this clunky-cool Jennifer Fisher bracelet to Joe’s Stone Crab or Yardbird, and don’t worry about getting messy.

Anyone as surprised as I am that a croissant-shaped clutch looks more timeless than cheeky? Charlotte Olympia, you’re a goddess. —erica

A wooden clutch, from the Tel Aviv line Tesler + Mendelovitch, would go nicely with a floral dress—very one-with-nature. —erica

Weather Vain - Key West, Florida - 72 and Partly Cloudy

One of the warmest destinations in the U.S. of A. today: Key West. What to wear if you don’t HAVE to wear a jacket. —erica
Clockwise from top left:
+ The sort of five-o’clock-somewhere pants from See by Chloe that leave plenty of room for Kermit’s key lime pie.
+ So, it’s not supposed to be a super-bright day, but this is definitely the sort of place where sunglasses—these by Karen Walker—are part of the uniform.
+ Stripes! On your soles! Alice + Olivia sandals that can navigate the rocky beaches.
+ A silk Tibi tank that goes with the motif of the Southernmost House.
+ Mociun earrings as quirky as your surroundings.
+ The low tonight: 64. So you can get away with just a Rag & Bone scarf-slash-shawl if you want to.
+ A wicker clutch from Rebecca Minkoff that’s a fun as it is easy—goes well with the catch of the day at the Flaming Buoy Filet Co.

Next Level: Cork

Since most of our wine comes with screw-tops, there’s something about wearing cork that feels fancy. (But, you know, in an opposite-of-Swarovski sort of way.) Here, four ways to give it some play. —erica
LEVEL I: This skinny Rag & Bone belt would bring some texture to a silk or jersey dress—picture it against cream.
LEVEL II: Deceptive suckers: These Dieppa Restrepo lace-ups look like they could be leather or canvas, but they are cork through and through.
LEVEL III: Lauren Merkin brings on the fall colors for a clutch that would look damn good with dark denim.
LEVEL IV: Holy. A cork T-shirt dress? Ostwald Helgason is not messing around.

Interior Inspiration: Grandma Shirley’s House

When Claire and I go to L.A., we stay at Grandma Shirley’s house. She lives in a sun-drenched, clean-lined place her family built in Brentwood in 1954—see the B&W pic for photographic evidence—but she probably wouldn’t want me to tell you all that because she doesn’t want people to find out about her neighborhood. All those watercolors you see above? They’re hers. Yes, crazy-impressive. And so is the fact that this 86-year-old walks four miles up and down hills at dawn every morning. (To learn even more mind-blowing things about Grandma Shirley, you can follow her Twitter.) And one more thing: She’d like you to know that the house was recently fumigated. It was a nightmare. —erica
1) A cable-knit Le Mont St. Michel sweater that would disappear right into that mid-century modern sofa.
2) Ridiculously cheerful floral silk pants from Johnny Was.
3) Brick-red Madison Harding shoes that make Grandma Shirley feel really short.
4) A Suno x Lizzie Fortunato Jewels bracelet with cutouts that mimic the house’s windows.
5) A Juliette Jake clutch in the brightest blue you’ve ever seen.
