Of a Kind

Cozy AND cool—this Hope sweater is pretty much a homerun. You know, for when the weather drops about 50 degrees. —erica

Weather Vain: Paris, France - 52 With a Chance of Rain

Even when it’s rainy there, we’re itching to be in Paris. I mean, we aren’t fools. Here’s what we’d wanna be wearing if we were so lucky today. —erica

Clockwise from top left:

+ A black Hope button-down that, with its asymmetrical hem, is so much more.

+ A glam Kelly Wearstler cuff that will make you even more bummed that you missed The Sporting Project's latest pop-up dinner series (a good reason to book another trip!).

+ The sort of easy necklace by Gabriela Artigas that won’t get in your way in the French Trotters fitting room.

+ This Gryphon trench will keep you dry..and motivated to make the walk to La Pâtisserie Des Rêves.

+ Nothing’s wrong with a little flash—especially in the form of these stroll-ready, Marais-friendly Dieppa Restrepo shoes.

+ Try not to empty this Clare Vivier wallet at Merci. Just do your best.

+ Iris & Ink leather pants the color of the wine that’s bound to fill your belly.

Weather Vain: Park City, Utah - 37 and Partly Cloudy

If you’re in Park City today…well, LUCKY YOU. Embrace the fact that it’s not nearly as cold as it could be—and tell JGL I say, “Heeeeeeeeeeeey.” —erica

Clockwise from top left:

+ A silky Equipment shirt that adds polish to pretty much anything.

+ The sort of Hope boots itching for apres-ski (or -screening) action.

+ Collina Strada's solution to keeping your room key—and chapstick—close-at-hand.

+ A crazy-cozy, chill-preventing layer from Maiami.

+ A gem-print scarf from We Are Owls—in case the theater’s chilly during Kill Your Darlings, A.C.O.D., or Very Good Girls.

Weather Vain: Peoria, Illinois - 50 with a Chance of Rain

Oh, does this destination seem random to you? Well, it’s where I grew up, so you’re just going to have to deal. Here’s a look that suits today’s weather in the middle of Midwest…which happens to match the weather in Austin (SXSW!) tomorrow. If it plays in Peoria, it will play anywhere, as they say. —erica

Clockwise from top left:

+ This Lizzie Fortunato Jewels necklace has just a pop of leopard—no need to go overboard.

+ These Isabel Marant cords are dressy enough for just about anywhere in town but low-key enough for Avanti’s.

+ Fabrics Interseason has a spring-y take on the denim shirt, and we’re all over it.

+ The tote Cook & Gates designed for Of a Kind goes anywhere—old mall, new mall, you name it.

+ Since you’re not going to be doing full-on puddle-jumping, these rubber Native slip-ons should be able to handle the precipitation.

+ How classy-shassy is this Hope parka? Take it to June for dinner. It can handle it.

Weather Vain: Boston, Massachusetts - 41 and Mostly Cloudy

If you’re spending your day in Beantown, wandering Fort Point or hanging in Cambridge, here’s what you should wear. You know, in my humble opinion. —erica

Clockwise from top left:

+ A Hope wool coat that will keep you just warm enough for walking Charles Street.

+ Suede pants can do East Coast prep—especially these Current/Elliott ones with their jean-esque cut and rusty maroon hue, just two notches left of neutral.

+ In these comfy, gum-soled Belle by Sigerson Morrison puppies, you could take on the Freedom Trail if you so desired.

+ A hit of neon—here, in the form of a T by Alexander Wang sweater—goes a long way.

+ You might have to loosen this Lizzie Fortunato belt after a few scoops from J.P. Licks.

+ These diamond earrings—from Blanca Monrós Gómez just for Of a Kind!—are the same color as your fave cocktail at Drink.

A Case For…Coats with Big, Fat Furry Collars

Listen, it feels like spring outside—in NYC, at least. And though I’m sure that in mid-March I’ll be praying to Mother Nature to turn up the heat and let me shed the tights already, right now bundling up is really appealing, especially considering the amount of outerwear that has cropped up this year that looks like it could actually keep you warm. In my mind, nothing feels more seasonally appropriate than taking to the streets on a bustling December Saturday in a last-ditch effort to complete your holiday shopping, bitching that your brother really needs to get some hobbies and taking solace a swathe of furriness (I’m all for fake!) surrounding your face. These six cozy options speak to me. —erica

1) Rachel Comey short husband coat: That plum color feels suddenly neutral, right?
2) Relwen sherpa collar duffer coat: Because no one said that fur had to look dressy.

3) Rag & Bone Euston coat: It would look a little too proper if not for that leather trim.
4) United Bamboo fur collar coat: Yes, that’s ostensibly a built-in (detachable) fur scarf.

5) Carven flannel fur collar jacket: The collar looks even more oversize thanks to the coat’s cropped cut.
6) Hope Ullman coat: Shearling, and lots of it. Mmm…
