“I started playing ‘A Little Respect’ by Erasure a lot over the summer while I was working because it definitely does the trick when I’m feeling overwhelmed. It puts me in the best mood, and I just want to dance every time I hear it! It’s always been one of my favorites.” —ann yee

“During the day I relied on Frank Sinatra, Django Reinhardt, and Edith Piaf to keep the mood in the studio upbeat and even-tempered (thanks, Pandora). But after-hours—and through long, late nights finishing up the collection—I would revert to the new release from the label Cut Mistake Music—in particular, the more experimental and ethereal first track by the band cnnr called ‘Candide,’ which helped bring me out of my element and focus on the intricacies of the collection. The B-side tracks by No Regular Play are perfect to get me moving around the studio.” —tara st james of study

“The song thats I’ve been rocking to lately is Kid Cudi’s ‘Day ‘N’ Nite.’ Being a one-woman business constantly feels like a hustle. It’s good but can be a lot. Also, the video is awesome.” —christine marcelino of materials + process

“Listened to HAIM’s ‘Forever’ all summer long—it is the best music being made right now, in my humble opinion! Katrina Dickson and I photographed the girls in this band for my fall collection, and I fell hard. And about my upcoming spring/summer collection: Think vacation all day, everyday.” —jesse kamm

“’Moonlight Mile’ by The Rolling Stones is such an enchanting, and mysterious love song. It progresses slowly and grows into a beautiful tune. My Le Havre Collection took a long time to develop, to build, and now I am very happy with the end result.” —andy lifschutz
