Double Take: Going Dotty

image

Confession: I don’t really like polka dots. I’m way more partial to stripes. But 3D-ified, the dot gets a bit more mod—and totally wins my affections. Just check out the spheres covering that Kelly Wearstler bowl or rimming this mirror (c/o Fornasetti). Spot-on. —alex ronan

More double trouble! Right here!

Weather Vain: Dallas, Texas - 73 and Clear

image

This time last year, Claire and I were exploring Dallas, and we’re kind of itching to do it all over again—especially on a straight-up gorgeous day like this one. What we’d wanna wear! —erica

Clockwise from top left:

+ A denim moto jacket by Theyskens’ Theory—in case your shoulders get cold while eating tostadas de ceviche outside at La Calle Doce.

+ A T by Alexander Wang dress in a blush-y hue, inspired by Grange Hall's flower arrangements.

+ So slick, this Kelly Wearstler ring! It’ll fit right in at dinner at Tei-An.

+ A raffia bag, from Loeffler Randall, that’s totally ready for a happening summer.

+ The perfect Sicky shades for taking in the Nasher Sculpture Garden.

+ Shoes for showing off a Hiatus pedicure, c/o Opening Ceremony.

+ Collette Ishiyama earrings that would make all the fancy ladies shopping at Forty Five Ten swoon.

Next Level: Perforated

image

Holes: such a thing right now. Below, four takes on the perforated motif that are totally perf. —erica

LEVEL I: Throw this Rag & Bone sweater on with a tank, and walk out the door. Well, maybe put some pants on, too, but you get the idea.

LEVEL II: The grape-y, Laffy Taffy-esque hue of this Rachel Comey tote really makes those hole-punches pop.

LEVEL III: Check out these super-slick 3.1 Phillip Lim flats! Those diamond-shaped cut-outs would let any crazy sock choices shine through.

LEVEL IV: What’s this? Oh, just the nuttiest ring you’ve ever seen, from Kelly Wearstler.

Can we talk about how the three biggest cities in Ohio start with C? Ok, we don’t have to. Instead, let’s discuss what to wear if you’re in the very largest C on a day like today. —erica

Clockwise from top left:

Next Level: Patterned Trenches

image

While there’s no arguing against having a klassic khaki trench in your arsenal, why not get a little crazy and add a zany, patterned one, too?  Four that’ll add some novelty to your spring getups. —erica

LEVEL I: Yes, it’s camo, but Kelly Wearstler's shades-of-gray approach keeps things very easy.

LEVEL II: The cut of this Boy by Band of Outsiders number couldn’t be more standard, and the map-print sleeves would make Carmen Sandiego grin ear-to-ear.

LEVEL III: Alice + Olivia does a snake print that’s more subtle than it is Samantha Jones.

LEVEL IV: There’s a lot happening—brushstroke motif, black leather accents, drapey collar—and somehow this jacket is still really chic. Nice one, Yigel Azrouel.

It’s “Next Level” madness around here.
