Interior Inspiration: Mama Shelter
When you visit Paris, you’re supposed to fall in love with a charming nine-room hotel just next door to a boulangerie, but when I visited last summer, I was super psyched on Mama Shelter, a clubby sort of place in the 20th that I probably would despise if it was in NYC. Somehow, mood lighting and graffiti décor are far less grating in France. This little look is inspired by the place’s vibe. And! Also! 1) A nearly blinding neon yellow Shipley & Halmos dress that would look so great with neutral accessories.
2) Clunky wood wedges by Minimarket, a stand-out Swedish line.
3) A necklace from Digby & Iona made to look like a tree stump—you can have it custom engraved with initials and hearts, if that’s your thang.
4) A cape-slash-blazer by Alexander Wang that’s fit for a superhero.
