Next Level: Pink & Red

Pink and red are not supposed to hang together—they kind of have a Capulet-Montague situation going. But, done right, man, can sparks fly. Four classy-cool ways to go. —erica
LEVEL I: How adorbs would these Loeffler Randall sandals be with rolled-up chinos?
LEVEL II: God, those blush-y hues. Reed Krakoff, you know what you’re doing.
LEVEL III: The cut-outs on this Mara Hoffman dress just contribute to the color-blocking masterfulness.
LEVEL IV: Subtle? Heck no. But this Venessa Arizaga necklace sure is fly.

In Character: Princess Jasmine

Princess Jasmine: total girl-next-door (if next door is a palace in Agrabah). Here’s how she owned the drop-dead gorge (but still approachable!) princess look. —erica

A pair of big, fat Kenneth Jay Lane earrings as shiny as Genie’s lamp.

The tie on this Mara Hoffman number makes it a lot safer for magic carpet riding.

Black lace, special-occasion harem pants from Kaelen. Prince Ali/Aladdin’s jaw would hit the desert floor.
Oh, there’s a lot more “In Character” where this came from—and more Disney, even.

Designer’s Designer: Elizabeth Thompson of Elizabeth Knight Jewelry Keeps Things Breezy With Mara Hoffman
Our designers aren’t just brilliant creators: They’re also huge supporters. So this week, we’re asking handful of them to share their favorite purchases from their up-and-coming peers. Today: Georgia native Elizabeth Thompson, who creates attention-grabbing statement jewelry under the name Elizabeth Knight, shares the summer find that’s kept her cool, despite that heatwave. —julia silverman

“This Mara Hoffman wrap dress is hands down my most favorite purchase of the summer. I fought for this piece at the sample sale and have rarely felt a greater sense of victory. The inspiration—nature, travel, and fantasy—is something we share, and I just love pairing up my jewelry with her clothing. Here I have on the Huipil blue wrap dress with my tube necklace and braided bangles.” —elizabeth

A Case for…Arrows

I’m not about to pack my bags for Albuquerque or anything, but I am sweating a Southwestern aesthetic right now. This arrow motif is a lot more subtle than, say, a Pendleton jacket—which ups the likelihood that I’ll still want to wear these pieces 18 months from now when I’m suddenly into baby-doll dresses or Mondrian-inspired prints or god knows what. —erica
1) Iacoli & McAllister Hex necklace No. 2: Layer this with a pile of beaded strands and chains to give ‘em an instant update.
2) Me & Arrow mini arrow satchel: The subtlety is the sell here.
3) Pamela Love arrowhead bracelet: This sucker is about legit as it gets.
4) Mara Hoffman red arrows maxi skirt: How nicely would this go with a denim shirt and some Hatch chiles?
