5 Places in…Venice

We couldn’t pick a favorite Los Angeles ‘hood. So we chose four. Check back every Monday in June—it’s L.A. month!—for our bite-size, totally manageable guides. First up: Venice, in honor of this week’s designer Sophie Monet, who calls the locale home. —erica

1) A. Kinney Court: This glasses emporium from Garrett Leight (more on him later) is about a thousand times cooler than Sunglass Hut.
2) A+R Store: The sort of place you can’t leave without buying something, this home-design hub is brought to you by Andy Griffith and Rose Apodaca—one of the most stylish women in the city and a power curator (yes, that’s a thing).
3) Milkmade: This cozy little spot stocks some of our very favorite international lines for both boys and girls, including Won Hundred, Folk, and Rittenhouse.
4) Gjelina: The wait at hotspot is crazy at all hours, so plan on an early dinner and order anything with burrata.
5) Mona Moore: The best shoe browsing around: Who else sells Pierre Hardy, Dries Van Noten, and Rick Owens?

Didn’t know I could get so excited about a cardigan, but this one is amazing. The photo doesn’t do it justice. There are two layers: a sailory stripey lining with a thin gray sweater on top. Thus, the effect is a winning combination of LOUD and quiet.
