Weather Vain: Joshua Tree, California - 54 and Partly Cloudy

image

Take a hike—we wish someone would tell us that today and that we’d get to jet west to chill with some Joshua trees and desert wildlife. Here’s what we’d wear after a morning making our way up Warren Peak. —erica

Clockwise from top left:

+ A Topo Designs bag that can hold things that qualify as gear—and plenty of water.

+ An easy-to-slip-on cuff by Giles & Brother fit for fire-pitting with friends at the Mojave Sands Motel.

+ Theyskens’ Theory boots that are hardly hike-appropriate but can totally handle some bumpy terrain.

+ The sort of leather-accented denim shirt by Iro that will look approp at Crossroads Cafe.

+ A Leigh & Luca scarf—cause you know it’s gonna get cold when the sun goes down.

+ Rag & Bone camo pants that will blend right in with the cacti.

+ A poncho! Feels right, no? This cozy Vince one will make you want to troll the farmers’ market for dates (as in, the kind you eat) all day.

More weather-plus-destination dressing! Here!

Topo Designs and White Horse Trading Co. collaborated on a jacket, and it’s making me think that pop of camo might just be the new pop of color. —erica

Falling For: Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen of Topo Designs Get Down With Nature

Jedd Rose and Mark Hansen of Colorado-based Topo Designs are all about nature—just look at the adventure-ready backpack they made for us. So it’s no surprise they opt for good-for-the-world clothing (just as long as it looks good, too). —julia silverman

"We’re really obsessed with these Jungmaven Henleys for the fall. Our favorite is the white version with the subtly contrasting cuffs and placket. They are not only made in the U.S. but are also from a combination of 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton, so very earth-friendly as well!” —jedd

Are you ready to do a little adventuring? Because the backpack that the two rad Colorado guys behind Topo Designs made us is. Though it is no doubt good to look at, all their little design implementations are meant to add function, too: The natural leather diamonds on the outside allow you to strap on a blanket or a yoga mat, and the shocking yellow lining on the inside makes it easy to spot things (5-hour Energy?) in the bottom of your bag. —erica

BUY / 50 of a kind / $109

As the way-cool Colorado co. Topo Designs demonstrates, a few POCs (pops of color, y’all) go a long way. —erica
