Of a Kind

Do you think these Saturdays Surf shorts could be unisex? Because there’s something appealingly Girl Scout camp/Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark about them. —erica

All of our exclusive ALL Knitwear hats are gone! And they disappeared in, like, ten hours. Thanks so much for supporting us and Annie Larson’s work, you guys. We are ecstatic, psyched, etc. If you love what Annie does and missed out on our amazing bit of winter warmth, might we recommend checking out her fantastic and moderately insane Freestyle scarf? There are seven patterns in play. —erica

The problem with this Uniform Wares watch is I don’t know where to look: Every single teeny-tiny component is just so beautiful. Those hash marks! —erica

And now, your moment of zen: This hat is made by Krochet Kids International, a company run by three dudes who learned how to crochet back when they were high-school ski bums. In college, after doing some travelling to places with extreme poverty, they decided to share their skillz (and as a result empower) a group of people in Uganda. Stories like this make pieces that are already pretty rad that much cooler. —erica

In Character: The Wet Bandits

First off, if you’re starting a band, you might want to consider The Wet Bandits for your name—it might not have stuck for the bumbling robbers outsmarted by Kevin McCallister, but there were other factors at play there. Take, for instance, the fact that Harry and Marv were supposed to blend right in wearing garb that was, especially on Marv’s lanky frame, very grungy Louis Vuitton. —erica

A Cheap Monday coat fit for a man who makes his living by respectable means.

OAK cotton-cashmere fingerless gloves—these burglars were too dumb to be worried about leaving prints.

A Harakiri necklace, because feathers are a key component of the aesthetic.

All I want right now: this sweatshirt, a bucket of movie-theater popcorn, and a nineties movie featuring Freddie Prinze Jr. and/or Julia Stiles. Is that too much to ask?

Kyle Ng, the guy who created this top-notch piece of coziness for his line Farm Tactics, made just bags until recently, and we are very pleased that he’s venturing into clothing. —erica

Supplies and Demand: Garrett Leight of Garrett Leight California Optical

Garrett Leight, who runs the crazy cool eyewear store A. Kinney Court in Venice, California, is launching his own namesake line for spring that I am basically obsessed with. And as you can imagine, that means he’s working a lot. Here’s what helps him survive the long hours filled with digital calipers. —erica

Two styles from the debut collection

“I wear Native ShoesJefferson in grey and Fitzsimmons in red. I prefer to wear them with sweat pants, but it depends on what meetings my day consists of. My graphic designer is now the creative director of Native—it’s out of Vancouver, and he’s from there. We shared an office for the last year, and he’s one of my best friends.”

Seeing as how I’m not in eighth grade, it is no longer acceptable to wish for glasses or to wear ones with non-prescription lenses because they look, like, soo kewl. Yet these frames from the new line Garrett Leight California Optical make me want worse vision once again—they’re oversize but not heavy in that Kanye/J.T. sort of way. —erica
