All of our exclusive ALL Knitwear hats are gone! And they disappeared in, like, ten hours. Thanks so much for supporting us and Annie Larson’s work, you guys. We are ecstatic, psyched, etc. If you love what Annie does and missed out on our amazing bit of winter warmth, might we recommend checking out her fantastic and moderately insane Freestyle scarf? There are seven patterns in play. —erica

Known Entities: Joan Didion

This is hardly a revelation, but most writers aren’t known for their style. Joan Didion, though—she looks exactly like you want her to, and that makes her descriptions of Maria Wyeth and Inez Victor’s aesthetics feel even more on-point. —erica
The essentials:

An anorak that says serious journalist—ideally a size too big. / Like: Funktional GI Anorak

Something flowy and vaguely hippieish, for blending in on Haight Street. / Like: Something Else by Natalie Wood slit silk maxi skirt

A scarf that can be worn any which way, with any which outfit—and used like a blanket on long trips to Hawaii. / Like: We Are Owls Chantilly lace scarf

Interior Inspiration: Thompson LES Hotel, NYC

We had our launch party on Wednesday! We were told it was fun, but we really couldn’t say—the whole night’s a blur, and not because of the free-flowing vodka. Here’s what we wore to our event at the very glossy Thompson LES…and what we might recommend to those heading to the hotel bar without hostessing duties. —erica
1) A painted leather cuff by Lauren Manoogian that would look especially nice on the heated patio.
2) The Katie Ermilio dress that I wore. Look too prim? Oh, it’s backless.
3) Claire’s leggy Michael Angel number. We don’t know what that print is exactly, but we heart it.
4) A Juma scarf printed with a moody, mysterious forest scene.
6) A cozy Vanishing Elephant cardigan that meshes with the mood lighting.

In ceramics class, you dreamt of making this. You actually produced an array of lopsided vessels that were suitable only for corralling pens. Thankfully, Rowena Sartin has had more success in the medium. —erica

Remember its Name

This beauty—which is only available at Of a Kind, mind you—is the Crystal Ship necklace. And lest you think Lizzie and Kathryn Fortunato (the women behind it) just picked those words at random, we’ll have you know that they take their naming very seriously. “We have buyers come now who won’t order something until they know the name,” Lizzie explains. “Because it’s a Lizzie piece, they know that they have to understand the name behind it, which is flattering.” So there. —erica

French designer Isaac Reina’s mantra: “No innovation at any cost.” He used to design accessories for Maison Martin Margiela and Hermès—but you probably could have guessed that if you had to.

Margarita Saplala makes pattern-mixing look damn easy. If you’re spending your holidays in Long Island, not St. Barts, I suspect this outfit would look pretty stellar with a cardigan on top—maybe an army green one? GO CRAZY. —erica
