Confession: I saw Cruel Intentions for the first time just recently. I know, I know. In case you’re wondering, it doesn’t really hold up, but I can imagine just how scandalized I would have been had I watched it at a slumber party when it came out. And Kathryn Merteuil, evil stepsister and prep-school princess who makes Blair Waldorf look like a real sweetheart, is at the heart of that. (Side note: I did still appreciate this monologue about slut-shaming, in case you’re wondering.) —erica
